Who We Are
We were founded in 2010 by Dutchman Ernst ter Meulen and Englishman Simon Hartnell. Both are men of the world with a taste for adventure, whether on the high seas or in the world of business. Ernst’s and Simon’s entrepreneurial zeal and unparalleled knowledge of the European commercial property sector have driven the business ever since.
Over the years, we have brought in other talented individuals who share our passion for business and bring further knowledge, expertise (and some quirky hobbies!) to the business. The result is a strong and aligned team who all hold the same values and vision.
That vision is to build something of value and longevity. And to that end, we pursue every deal with the same single-minded determination we show when pursuing our other passions in life, from piloting a hot air balloon to endurance cycling. That 100% commitment is what enabled us to see early on how the emerging technology and data industries would impact the real estate business, and to take the lead in real estate advisory in data centers.
In just ten years, the business has developed a reputation for expansive industry knowledge and tenacious deal-making. We have done that by helping predominantly UK-based investment managers, along with overseas capital, to secure real estate and data centre assets in the UK and mainland Europe.
Our clients have included the likes of M&G Real Estate Investments, InfraRed Capital Partners, Singapore Telecom and Telemedia, 90 North Real Estate Managers and Virtus Data Centres. We’d love the opportunity to chat with you, so meet the team!

Ernst ter Meulen

Ernst loves the outdoors. He is a skilled sailor, keen tennis player and a fervent skier.
Ernst is responsible for the growth and strategic direction of AC Niellsen, as well as looking after some of the company’s more significant projects.
He lived and worked in the US for more than a decade before returning to the Netherlands in the late 1980s and starting a residential estate agency, later moving into property investment advisory and investing on his own account in retail, logistics and office investments.
As an entrepreneur at heart, Ernst is always full of ideas and determined to close every deal. He believes that keeping things simple and never giving up is the secret to building long lasting relationships and managing successful investments.

Junior Volmer
REAL ESTATE & DATA CENTERS
Rudi Jr. – known to all simply as Junior – spent three years on the road as a successful DJ, playing to thousands of revellers throughout Europe, before adding real estate to the mix. He then gained an excellent knowledge of commercial real estate by managing a property portfolio for a private Dutch investor. He now keeps two decks spinning by working as content manager at WehaveAnyspace in addition to his role at AC Niellsen.
The rest of the time, you can find him mixing things up in the kitchen or relaxing with his friends on one of the many great terraces by the Amsterdam canals.
